It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of our beloved brother Knight, Philip McGovern. Philip was a dedicated member of our council, serving as our Treasurer with unwavering commitment and integrity. Beyond his official duties, Philip was a constant presence at our events, always ready to lend a helping hand and offer his support.
His dedication to the Knights of Columbus and his selfless
service to our community will be deeply missed. Philip was more than just a Knight; he was a true friend and brother to all of us. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit touched the lives of everyone he met.
We will forever cherish the memories of Philip and the countless ways he enriched our lives. He will be dearly missed, but his legacy of service and brotherhood will live on in our hearts. May he rest in peace.
It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of our beloved brother Knight, Gerard Giesler. Gerard, age 87 of Parlin, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2026. A proud veteran of the US Air Force and a dedicated member of Council 8478, Gerard embodied the principles of our order through his unwavering service. He was an active and vibrant part of our council, always ready with a helping hand and a cheerful spirit for our charity events. His commitment to St. Bernadette's RC Church and his brothers in the Knights of Columbus was an inspiration. His dedication and kindness will be greatly missed, but his legacy of faith and service will endure in our hearts.
